Call for papers: Brill Volume on Death and Remembrance in Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe

We are seeking contributors for several essays for a Brill Handbook of the Christian Tradition on Death and Remembrance in Europe 1300-1700. The essays will be 8,000-10,000 words. In particular we are looking for contributors on:

  • Funerary traditions in late medieval Christianity
  • Dying and death in the Catholic Reformation
  • Remembrance and memorials in Counter-Reformation Europe
  • The archaeology of late medieval and early modern cemeteries
  • Funeral sermons over time
  • Mourning and grief
  • The music of death and remembrance
