Dr Conor O’Brien
Conor O’Brien studied English and History at Cork and Medieval Studies at Oxford. He has worked at the University of Sheffield and held a Research Fellowship at Churchill College, Cambridge from 2015 to 2018; he is currently an Associate Professor and Solway Fellow in the History of Christianity at the Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies, Durham. Conor’s primary research interests are in the intellectual and religious history of the early Middle Ages and his first book Bede’s Temple: An Image and its Interpretation (Oxford, 2015) won the Best Book Prize of the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists. His current research explores early medieval political theology.
