Dr Sam Brewitt-Taylor

Sam Brewitt-Taylor is Darby Fellow in History at Lincoln College, Oxford. He works on religious and cultural change in mid-twentieth century Britain, with a particular interest in the cultural upheavals of ’the Sixties’. His first monograph, Christian Radicalism in the Church of England and the Invention of the British Sixties, 1957-1970 was published by OUP in 2018. He is now working on two projects: a series of articles reconsidering secularisation theory from a ‘postsecular’ standpoint, and a book-length exploration of changing ideologies of modernity in postwar Britain.
