W. B. Patterson’s Thomas Fuller: Discovering England’s Religious
Past
(OUP, 2018) analyses the thought of Thomas Fuller, who lived in 1608-61, during the post-Reformation and civil war years, and broke new ground in his interpretation of Christianity in Britain from the earliest times and of
the revolutionary period of the mid-seventeenth century.

Oxford have also published a paperback edition of Patterson’s William
Perkins and the Making of a Protestant England
(OUP, 2014), a study of the
writer who, Patterson argues, was a formidable champion of the established Church and the most widely known English theologian of the Elizabethan period.

Gillian Bickley has recently published, with the Chinese University
